Borba, Vinho Regional, Alentejo, Portugal

Blend:

49% Aragonez, 16% Touriga Nacional, 11% Tinta Caiada, 10% Alicante Bouschet, 9% Petit Verdot

Alcohol:

14.5% vol.

Winemaking:

The red Monte is pressed from the younger vines of the Quinta. Hand harvested and hand sorted on conveyor belts. Fermented in steel tanks. Matured for 12 months in used french oak barrels. Unfined (no animal based proteins).

Tasting Notes:

Dark violet red. Intense and deep in bouquet, a mix of fruit and ethereal flower scents, hints of toast and smoke. Solidly built with soft tannins and quite some extract, lots of juicy fruit and spicy taste, a fine and pleasant food wine.

Service and Pairing:

Serve with 13 – 16°C, drink it with pasta, pizza, or a nice barbecue. Drink from 2022 on to 2027. Store below 15°C.
